Appealing Municipal Court judgments to Circuit Court

Ask anyone whether they have ever been named as a defendant in a governmental prosecution and chances are they will quickly respond in the negative. Probe further, however, and you may realize that at some point in their lives many people have, in fact, been a named defendant in one of Wisconsin's 240 municipal courts.1 Indeed, for many people, municipal court is the only forum in which they will ever come into contact with the legal system as a litigant.
